So, what is shrub or where did it come from?
There are several ideas, and like today’s news most of them contain just enough truth to suck us in.
And as usual, we pick the one we like.
Given my history of bucking authority, I choose this tale:
It was pirates!
In colonial times one of the tricks for smuggling rum was to sink kegs off shore and pick them up later.
But the saltwater seeped in making the rum taste like bad Zhumir (okay, as if there’s anything else).
So those bad boys added fruit to the barrel to cover up the salty junk, and out of necessity, a new treat was born.
As people discovered these new flavors they became known as drinking vinegars.
Who says Manifest Destiny was all that bad?
And it was then that the ancient seeds from which arose Bonobo Bob’s Tribu de Amor were sown.
Bonobo Bob’s Tribu de Amor shrubs, vinaigrettes, and craft cocktail mixes are the easiest, quickest, and most cost-effective way to up your culinary game and dazzle your guests with unique, flavorful, and refreshing cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks.
